Many of us were baptized as infants; during that ceremony, our parents made certain promises on our behalf. Confirmation is our opportunity to "confirm" that we wish to continue growing in our faith, and that we want to renew those promises, this time making that choice for ourselves.
As a result, preparing for Confirmation is often the first opportunity young people have to reflect upon their faith. At the Confirmation liturgy, we truly make our faith our own: it's not just about memorizing the right rules and Bible stories, but about looking to deepen our relationship with God. In Confirmation, God pours out His Holy Spirit upon us, giving us the gifts we need to be the person He created us to be.
It is an important moment in a young person's life, and one we are delighted to share with you as a parish community. To register for this sacrament during the 2023-24 school year, please follow the steps outlined below.

Step 1: Register Online
Please register your child with our online form.
Please note: registrations are due September 24, 2023.

Step 2: Attend Information Meeting
We will hold an information meeting for parents/caregivers and Confirmation candidates at 10:15 AM on Sunday, September 24th at Sacred Heart School. The meeting will be followed by our 11 AM Mass and a Sundae Sunday social!

Resources for Preparation
At our information meeting, we will hand out some helpful resources to prepare for our celebration of Confirmation. If you are unable to attend this meeting, please contact Fr. Patrick so we can arrange for you to receive these materials.
In addition, our parish subscribes to Formed.org, which is available to you free of charge (see our Formed page for details). There are plenty of great resources on Formed that can help prepare your child for Confirmation. We can highly recommend the series Signs of Grace: You are Sent. In just five brief episodes (most under ten minutes), all the basics of the sacrament are covered.
